My name is Dave, and I live near the East Coast in
Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. I first saw a 1959 Buick on the cover of a
book called Chrome, way back in the early 80's and fell in love with the
styling immediately. Back then owning such a
car was nothing more than a pipe-dream, and I never thought that I would
ever get the chance to own one of these beautiful cars. In 1998, I
eventually realised my dream and bought an Invicta 2dr Hardtop. Finding
information about these cars was extremely difficult at that time, as,
it seemed, I had bought one of the few cars that hadn't quite drawn the
attention that it deserved from the classic/collector market.
Moving on to last year, I joined the AACA forum, and was
delighted to find that there were people just like myself, who loved
them big old Buicks as much, if not more, than me!! After several months
of exchanging messages with some very knowledgeable people I found that
we had another similar interest, that being the desire to have a web
site dedicated to the '59 Buick hobby. As we all know, talking about the
desire to see something doesn't result in anything happening about it.
so after a few conversations I took the decision to set up the web site,
despite never having had any experience with web site administration,
web page development, or pretty much anything else!
The site is powered by
phpbb forum software, and
Gallery 2.0 for the Photo albums. Registration (free) is required on both applications in
order to get the best from the web site.
My thanks go to all the members of the site firstly for
signing up and contributing so much to the site, and also for their
patience with me while I get to grips with some of their requests for
feature changes.
